What is Zumba?
Zumba® is a fun, fat-burning
workout where African, Caribbean and Latin dance moves
are combined with aerobics/fitness. It is a 'fun and
easy to do' workout where you don't need to be a dancer
to Zumba®. The dance routines feature aerobic/fitness
interval training with a combination of fast and slow
rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba® utilises
the principles of fitness interval training and resistance
training to maximise caloric output, fat burning and
total body toning. You can burn up to 1000 calories
in a Zumba®class!
Who can participate?
There are no pre-requisites to
join the class, just bring yourself and a whole bunch
of energy. Very soon youíll be moving your body
to Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Reggeaton, Mambo & Cha
Do I need to know how
NO! On average around 90% of
the class will not have had any dance experience before
joining Zumba! It's a form of dance aerobics so what
you do/don't know and how well you do it is irrelevant.
It's all about having fun, doing exercise and joining
the others doing the same. There will be others in the
class learning with you, keep going and it won't take
long to pick it up! You'll still be burning calories
no matter what movements you make. The more you attend
Zumba classes, the better you will get. Zumba is all
about having fun and adding your energy to the room.
